Here is what you need to consider. 50 years ago, it was 1960, and when you played youth sports as I did, you learned to lose. When you failed at school, you failed. When companies could no longer make payroll, they declared bankruptcy and were reorganized through judicial mandate. If you were not good at your job, you either left on your own or were fired. Those who succeeded were rewarded with better lives than their parents.
Fast forward to now... We don't want to keep score at youth sporting events because we don't want to hurt any one's feelings. If you are failing at school, you will be placated by lowering the standards of everyone else to meet the standard of the lowest common denominator. When companies cannot make payroll, the government will come in and bail the company out and the people who ran it into the ground still get their multi-million dollar bonuses. If you aren't capable to do your job or worse, choose to do poorly, you are protected by labor unions and ridiculous formalities that allow you to continue regardless of performance.
And the worst of all... When hard work and tenacity propel you to success, you are penalized by unfair taxation and redistribution of what you have earned. For every dollar that you make as much as 50-60% goes to various taxes. If you do well enough to buy property, you are taxed on that as well. When you choose to send your children to a private school, you not only pay their tuition, but you are taxed at the same level regardless of your choice not to participate in government run education. If you have health insurance, now you will be taxed on that as well; especially if it is a good plan that provides good coverage.
We have very few choices left. We will either stand up for American exceptionalism or accept our fate. The fate that we have chosen and allowed to perpetuate by our silence. When people decided that feelings were more important than lessons, the lessons ceased. When failure no longer has consequences there is no reason to avoid it. And when success no longer carries reward, then there will be no more effort. Karl Marx declared clearly what America is headed towards when he said "to each according to his need and from each according to his ability". If you do not believe that the path we are on is destructive and will ultimately result in the downfall of the United States, then continue to do nothing. If you do want America to be the country it was and can be again, then stand up and be counted. Vote in November, make your voices heard via email and calling your congressmen and senators, participate in a political rally, just do SOMETHING.
If you choose to do nothing... you cannot say anything about the results.
