Great Music Video... share with your friends

Independence from tyranny

On July 4, 1776 the founders of this great nation set in motion the series of events that would forever fundamentally change the world. The declaration of independence from the rule of King George III was seen by many as a fools journey. To stand united against the greatest nation and greatest army in the world was thought by many to be at a minimum insane and most likely suicidal. Regardless, men of character stood together and for the love of liberty, fought for the freedom we enjoy today. I fear that the integrity fought so boldly for 200+ years ago has been lost.

Today, the federal government is at least as tyrannical as England was during the American Revolution. Today, the federal government is actively suing one of it's own United States. Today, the rights of the criminal outweigh the rights of the victim. And today, the most productive in society are punished with overly burdensome taxation to reward the least productive. The time has come for great men of character to stand up against tyrannical government.

Our protected right to govern ourselves is rooted in the simple act of voting. If ever there was a time to exercise that right, it is now. Political parties aside, the incumbents in Congress MUST be removed. There is a reason why George Washington refused a third term as President. The advent of the career politician has ushered in a self-serving group of disconnected individuals that are more worried about their reelection than following the will of the people. It is time the Washington elite hear loud and clear the will of the people. There can be no room for doubt.

The TEA party is a beginning but by no means can it be the end. There MUST be fundamental change in the Congress or the "Change" President Obama promised will come to fruition and the United States as we know it, will cease to exist. The people are the only ones who can change our path and you are the people. Make your voice heard through the ballot box and through activism. There is no better way to foster in the next American Revolution.

WE NOTICED!!!

Sherry Hackett, wife of the late Buddy Hackett, is a dyed-in-the-wool Democrat.
It would be thought that many other Democrats share her position.

This was written by Sherry Hackett, Buddy Hackett's widow.
"WE NOTICED"

President Obama:

Today I read of your administrations' plan to re-define September 11 as a National Service Day.
Sir, it's time we had a talk.

During your campaign, Americans watched as you made a mockery of our tradition of standing and crossing your heart when the Pledge of Allegiance was spoken.. You, out of four people on the stage, were the only one not honoring our tradition.

YES, "We noticed."

During one of your many speeches, Americans heard you say that you intended to visit all 57 states.

We all know that Islam, not America has 57 states.

YES, "We noticed."

When President Bush leaned over at Ground Zero and gently placed a flower on the memorial, while you nonchalantly tossed your flower onto the pile without leaning over.

YES, "We noticed."

Every time you apologized to other countries for America's position on an issue we have wondered why you don't share our pride in this great country.. When you have heard foreign leaders berate our country and our beliefs, you have not defended us. In fact, you insulted the British Crown beyond belief. And, you even bowed before the Saudi king

YES, "We noticed."

When your pastor of 20 years "God-damned America " and said that 9/11 was " America 's chickens coming home to roost" and you denied having heard recriminations of that nature, we wondered how that could be, after attending that church for 20 years. You later disassociated yourself from that church and Pastor Wright because it was politically expedient to do so.

YES, "We noticed."

When you announced that you would transform America , we wondered why. With all her faults, America is the greatest country on earth.
Sir, KEEP THIS IN MIND, "if not for America and the people who built her, you wouldn't be sitting in the White House now." Prior to your election to the highest office in this Country, you were a senator from Illinois and from what we can glean from the records available, not a very remarkable one.

YES, "We noticed."

All through your campaign and even now, you have surrounded yourself with individuals who are basically unqualified for the positions for which you appointed them. Worse than that, the majority of them are people who, like you, bear no special allegiance, respect, or affection for this country and her traditions.

YES, "We noticed."

You are almost15 months into your term and every morning millions of Americans wake up to a new horror heaped on us by you. You seek to saddle working Americans with a health care/insurance reform package that, along with cap and trade, will bankrupt this nation.

YES, "We noticed."

We seek, by protesting, to let our representatives know that we are not in favor of these crippling expenditures, and we are labeled "un-American","racist", "mob". We wonder how we are supposed to let you know how frustrated we are. You have attempted to make our protests seem isolated and insignificant. Until your appointment, Americans had the right
to speak out.

YES, "We noticed."

On September 11, 2001 there were no Republicans or Democrats, only Americans. And we all grieved together and helped each other in whatever way we could. The attack on 9/11 was carried out because we are Americans.

And YES, "We noticed."

There were many of us who prayed that as a black president you could help unite this nation. In your short tenure in office you have done more to destroy this nation than the attack on 9/11. You have failed us.

YES, "We noticed."

September 11 is a day of remembrance for all Americans. You propose to make 9/11 a "National Service Day". While we know that you don't share our reverence for 9/11, we pray that history will report your proposal as what it is, a disgrace.

YES, "We noticed."

You have made a mockery of our Constitution and the office that you hold. You have embarrassed and slighted us in foreign visits and policy..

YES, "We noticed."

When you denied a military flyover at the annual "God and Country" rally in Idaho, where new military recruits were inducted, and all military were honored, that was the first time in 42 years that a military flyover did not occur. When the organizers contacted the Pentagon to ask why this was not allowed, they were told that it was because the event was of a "Christian nature".

Yes, we noticed.

We have noticed all these things. We will deal with you. When Americans come together again, it will be to remove you from office.

Take notice.

This is ... WOW... and confirmed as authentic.

Letter To Obama at Whitehouse Sent from 95 year Old Pearl Harbor Survivor !! Fantastic!!

WW II Battleship sailor tells Obama to shape up or ship out !

This venerable and much honored WW II vet is well known in Hawaii for his seventy-plus years of service to patriotic organizations and causes all over the country. A humble man without a political bone in his body, he has never spoken out before about a government official, until now. He dictated this letter to a friend, signed it and mailed it to the president.

Dear President Obama,

My name is Harold Estes, approaching 95 on December 13 of this year. People meeting me for the first time don't believe my age because I remain wrinkle free and pretty much mentally alert.

I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1934 and served proudly before, during and after WW II retiring as a Master Chief Bos'n Mate. Now I live in a "rest home" located on the western end of Pearl Harbor , allowing me to keep alive the memories of 23 years of service to my country.

One of the benefits of my age, perhaps the only one, is to speak my mind, blunt and direct even to the head man.

So here goes.

I am amazed, angry and determined not to see my country die before I do, but you seem hell bent not to grant me that wish.

I can't figure out what country you are the president of.
You fly around the world telling our friends and enemies despicable lies like:
" We're no longer a Christian nation"
" America is arrogant" - (Your wife even
announced to the world," America is mean-
spirited. " Please tell her to try preaching
that nonsense to 23 generations of our
war dead buried all over the globe who
died for no other reason than to free a
whole lot of strangers from tyranny and
hopelessness.)
I'd say shame on the both of you, but I don't think you like America, nor do I see an ounce of gratefulness in anything you do, for the obvious gifts this country has given you. To be without shame or gratefulness is a dangerous thing for a man sitting in the White House.

After 9/11 you said," America hasn't lived up to her ideals."

Which ones did you mean? Was it the notion of personal liberty that 11,000 farmers and shopkeepers died for to win independence from the British? Or maybe the ideal that no man should be a slave to another man, that 500,000 men died for in the Civil War? I hope you didn't mean the ideal 470,000 fathers, brothers, husbands, and a lot of fellas I knew personally died for in WWII, because we felt real strongly about not letting any nation push us around, because we stand for freedom.

I don't think you mean the ideal that says equality is better than discrimination. You know the one that a whole lot of white people understood when they helped to get you elected.

Take a little advice from a very old geezer, young man.

Shape up and start acting like an American. If you don't, I'll do what I can to see you get shipped out of that fancy rental on Pennsylvania Avenue . You were elected to lead not to bow, apologize and kiss the hands of murderers and corrupt leaders who still treat their people like slaves.

And just who do you think you are telling the American people not to jump to conclusions and condemn that Muslim major who killed 13 of his fellow soldiers and wounded dozens more. You mean you don't want us to do what you did when that white cop used force to subdue that black college professor in Massachusetts , who was putting up a fight? You don't mind offending the police calling them stupid but you don't want us to offend Muslim fanatics by calling them what they are, terrorists.

One more thing. I realize you never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life, but you're the Commander-in-Chief now, son. Do your job. When your battle-hardened field General asks you for 40,000 more troops to complete the mission, give them to him. But if you're not in this fight to win, then get out. The life of one American soldier is not worth the best political strategy you're thinking of.

You could be our greatest president because you face the greatest challenge ever presented to any president.
You're not going to restore American greatness by bringing back our bloated economy. That's not our greatest threat. Losing the heart and soul of who we are as Americans is our big fight now.
And I sure as hell don't want to think my president is the enemy in this final battle...

Sincerely,
Harold B. Estes

Controversial... What about profiling???

I, like many, do not want the government intruding where they do not belong. That being said, what exactly is bad about profiling? I don't believe that any one race, religion, gender or orientation is worthy of profiling against a particular crime. HOWEVER, the politically correct way of applying to all the restrictions based on the actions of some is no better. I am going to make some generalizations in the following paragraphs that I challenge reasonable dispute. If there is a good argument, please comment and share.

1. The majority of illegal immigrants in the United States are Hispanic.
2. Asian girls that work in massage parlors are probably illegal and slaves.
3. Most of the terrorists attacks in the world in the last 20 years have been carried out by radicals, most, not all who are Islamic.
4. In urban centers, gang membership is primarily either Hispanic or Black youth.
5. High dollar white collar crimes are mostly carried out by white men.
6. Low income children are more likely to become low income adults.

This is only a very few of the "generalizations" that one can make. Ask yourself if any of them are untrue; not politically incorrect, but untrue. Do these generalizations make profiling OK? That is the million dollar question. I submit that profiling is not inherently bad, but the complete avoidance of it is.

If you go to the airport today, in order to prevent the appearance of profiling, a 90 year old that walks with a walker and can barely get through airport security is required to remove their shoes and may be "randomly" chosen for an enhanced search. What good does that serve? There has NEVER been a terrorist that is elderly and walks with a walker.

If you are driving down the highway and see a Chevy van with 14 people inside, what would you guess the race of those people would be? Now... ask yourself, if you automatically assumed what I am pretty sure you did, isn't that profiling. Now, is that wrong or is that a law enforcement tool?

Here is the issue in my opinion. Not that profiling is bad but that it is abused. Holding law enforcement responsible to not abuse their charter is the solution to the profiling issue. I believe that if you meet the profile, you should be happy to be subject to questioning. If you have nothing to hide, then you have nothing to worry about. Those who are worried about getting caught are the ones who don't like profiling.

Just my thoughts.... yours???

Arizona gets it right... but was it ever wrong???

This week the Governor of Arizona signed immigration laws into effect for the State of Arizona. These laws make it illegal to be in the State of Arizona if you do not have legal residence in the United States. The law also "allows" police officers to ask about immigration status when probable cause is present. This is, in my opinion a good start towards real reform. The problem is, there is nothing in the Arizona law that hasn't existed for years in federal law.

The United States federal law was the template for the Arizona law that everyone is protesting right now. The law, in place for many years has simply not been enforced. What I find interesting is the probable cause issue. Based on the interpretation of this law, I can see illegal immigrants having their arrests reversed because they are illegal immigrants but the police officer didn't do a good enough job establishing probable cause.

If they are here illegally, there shouldn't need to be probable cause. If they are here legally than it shouldn't matter as long as there is no profiling. If the national ID card go through then there will be no reason to need probable cause anyway because if you don't have a national ID, then you obviously are here illegally.

I love the left wing of this country... they don't even realize that the thing they are most against will be made easier and more effective by the things that they want the most.

I LOVE IT...

Consider today the ruling by the federal appeals court that forbids the National Day of Prayer. The judge issuing the ruling based it on the "founders" principles of the Constitution.

The problem, the Constitution is not about freedom FROM religion but rather freedom OF religion. Article 1 of the Constitution states the Congress shall make NO LAW respecting the establishment of religion or the free exercise thereof. (paraphrased)

I don't care if you pray or not. I don't care if you believe in a higher power or not, what I do care about is the intrusion of government into another aspect of the American existence. I will keep saying the same thing. Our families and forefathers have fought and died for our rights and for the principles of the Constitution, WE CANNOT LET THE ANTI-CONSTITUTIONAL PROGRESSIVES TAKE OUR COUNTRY FROM US.

{{{FALSE}}} READ ABOVE POST>>>THIS IS RIDICULOUS...

General Bill Ginn' USAF (ret.) asked Obama to explain WHY he doesn't follow protocol when the National Anthem is played. The General stated to Obama that according to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171...During rendition of the national anthem, when the flag is displayed, all present (except those in uniform) are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Or, at the very least, "Stand and Face It".

NOW GET THIS !! - - - - -

'Senator' Obama replied:
"As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides". "There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression.." "The anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all that sort of thing."

(ARE YOU READY FOR THIS???)

Obama continued: "The National Anthem should be 'swapped' for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like To Teach the World To Sing'. If that were our anthem, then, I might salute it. In my opinion, we should consider reinventing our National Anthem as well as 'redesign' our Flag to better offer our enemies hope and love. It's my intention, if elected, to disarm America to the level of acceptance to our Middle East Brethren. If we, as a Nation of waring people, conduct ourselves like the nations of Islam, where peace prevails - - - perhaps a state or period of mutual accord could exist between our governments ."

When I become President, I will seek a pact of agreement to end hostilities between those who have been at war or in a state of enmity, and a freedom from disquieting oppressive thoughts. We as a Nation, have placed upon the nations of Islam, an unfair injustice which is WHY my wife disrespects the Flag and she and I have attended several flag burning ceremonies in the past".
"Of course now, I have found myself about to become the President of the United States and I have put my hatred aside. I will use my power to bring CHANGE to this Nation, and offer the people a new path.. My wife and I look forward to becoming our Country's First black Family. Indeed, CHANGE is about to overwhelm the United States of America "

WHAAAAAAAT, the Hell is that!!!

Yes, you read it right. I, for one, am speechless!!!
Dale Lindsborg, Washington Post

For my part... I say IMPEACH the traitor... but that's just me. In the meantime, we have to stop every single initiative that this ANTI-AMERICAN President puts forward.
Everything he does has a hidden agenda that is part of his "fundamental change of America". God help us survive this presidential term with an intact Country.

What the HELL is wrong with American Exceptionalism???

Here is what you need to consider. 50 years ago, it was 1960, and when you played youth sports as I did, you learned to lose. When you failed at school, you failed. When companies could no longer make payroll, they declared bankruptcy and were reorganized through judicial mandate. If you were not good at your job, you either left on your own or were fired. Those who succeeded were rewarded with better lives than their parents.

Fast forward to now... We don't want to keep score at youth sporting events because we don't want to hurt any one's feelings. If you are failing at school, you will be placated by lowering the standards of everyone else to meet the standard of the lowest common denominator. When companies cannot make payroll, the government will come in and bail the company out and the people who ran it into the ground still get their multi-million dollar bonuses. If you aren't capable to do your job or worse, choose to do poorly, you are protected by labor unions and ridiculous formalities that allow you to continue regardless of performance.

And the worst of all... When hard work and tenacity propel you to success, you are penalized by unfair taxation and redistribution of what you have earned. For every dollar that you make as much as 50-60% goes to various taxes. If you do well enough to buy property, you are taxed on that as well. When you choose to send your children to a private school, you not only pay their tuition, but you are taxed at the same level regardless of your choice not to participate in government run education. If you have health insurance, now you will be taxed on that as well; especially if it is a good plan that provides good coverage.

We have very few choices left. We will either stand up for American exceptionalism or accept our fate. The fate that we have chosen and allowed to perpetuate by our silence. When people decided that feelings were more important than lessons, the lessons ceased. When failure no longer has consequences there is no reason to avoid it. And when success no longer carries reward, then there will be no more effort. Karl Marx declared clearly what America is headed towards when he said "to each according to his need and from each according to his ability". If you do not believe that the path we are on is destructive and will ultimately result in the downfall of the United States, then continue to do nothing. If you do want America to be the country it was and can be again, then stand up and be counted. Vote in November, make your voices heard via email and calling your congressmen and senators, participate in a political rally, just do SOMETHING.

If you choose to do nothing... you cannot say anything about the results.

Talking points for patriots...

Here is my take on a number of issues. I believe myself to be a patriot and a Constitutional Libertarian. I am not a Republican or a Democrat. As a matter of fact, neither party would have me as my beliefs do not line up with theirs. The following is a list, although not all inclusive, of what I believe and why.

1. For every choice there is a consequence. No matter what we as a nation or as individuals choose, there are consequences. Some good, some bad, depending on the choice. The problem with America today is that there are too many out there who want the consequences of individual choice to be collective. If someone makes bad choices, then it is the responsibility of the people to pay the consequences. THIS IS WRONG!!! If we give up freedom, then we will give up consequences. If we want freedom, we must take responsibility for our choices.

2. There are no entitlements in the Constitution. When the founding fathers came together to create the foundation of a free nation, they did not intend or presume any entitlements in the design of our government. There was no social security, no medicare, no aid to dependent children, no national student loan program, no medicaid, nothing. Everyone was responsible for themselves and their families. Ultimately, this is where it should return if we want to continue to be a free nation. Entitlements breed dependence and dependence breeds laziness. Lazy people are ultimately, like all others in history, overtaken and conquered.

3. Freedom means Freedom. In other words, you can't have it both ways. I don't morally support prostitution or pornography. I am not in support of elecit drug use. I think people with ideas that are different than mine should shut up. HOWEVER.... I believe in true free speech and I cannot suppose to dictate morality without also sacrificing liberty in its purest form. When an ADULT chooses to do something to or with their body, they should be left to make that choice. See number 1 also because choices have consequences and they are to be bourne by the person who makes the choice.

4. Regulatory agencies aren't good for America. Examples including the EPA and FDA are symptomatic of the problems that can arise from too much government. In this country we pay tobacco farmers NOT to grow tobacco. We regulate food, drugs, gas, air, just about everything. I propose that without these agencies, that a society, given time would self-regulate poor performers out of business. This is capitalism and freedom as it should be.

Ultimately, This is only 4 of my beliefs. There are so many more but all of them can be found written in the centuries old documents that formed the foundation of our country. The Constitution, the federalist papers, Common Sense by Thomas Paine and many other documents and literature from the time. If you don't believe the founders had considered what we are facing today, read thier writings. They knew and lived through what we are seeing today. They revolted against it and formed this great nation. Do not repeat the history that we are clearly starting to forget.

Why immigration reform is good but the plan is bad...

Let me start by saying that there is a tremendous need for immigration reform in the US. There should be a system in place for the people who want to immigrate to this great nation to be able to do that when they are able to make their own way financially. There are many stories of immigrant families that have started with nearly nothing and made a prosperous life for themselves in the US. This stories are the ones that make immigration a good thing for America.

On the other hand, there is the illegal immigrants that sneak into our country and once here expect that the US will take care of them. There are hundreds of babies born in border states because illegals have come across the border, knowing that when born in the US, their children become automatic citizens. These are the people who will work in the fields for thirty cents an hour and rely on the welfare of the American people to take care of them.

By allowing this illegal migration to take place, the US is implicit in the slavery of these same people. There is no excuse and there is no exception. The illegal immigrants that pick the food that you eat are slaves, modern day slaves. There is concern that if they were paid fairly, the cost of food would become too high and people would stop buying it. This is a great argument for slavery but I am pretty sure the Civil War took care of that issue.

Amnesty is not the answer either. We can not absorb the impact on our infrastructure that amnesty would cause. The answer is securing our borders against illegal immigration and welcoming all who would come here legally. Immigration is the backbone of the melting pot that we call America. We need to continue to invite others to become a productive member of our country. But, we must stop illegal immigration by whatever means possible to protect our way of life.

My official response to the healthcare bill....

I decided that the only way that I can address this issue is in a single comprehensive statement. I thought it best to not focus on the things that I cannot change but rather, determine what I can. After two days of listening to the pundits on both sides of the issue, looking at the bill myself and thinking about the foundation of the issues, I have determined that my issue is not with health care, but with government in general.

Anyone can make a 2000+ page bill sound bad or good depending on their perspective. So the bill will not be the focus of my response. Simply, I detest the entire process. The bill is only a symptom of what is appearing more and more to be a festering, terminal disease on the back of the American people. There is no basis for this kind of government involvement in individual lives and this is not the first but just another entitlement that is designed to relieve the people of not just their responsibility but their freedom as well.

Beginning with the earliest regulatory agencies, the government took more and more liberty from the people. In the guise of protecting people from evil profiteers, the EPA, the FDA, and thousands of other agencies were formed. The argument that we must be protected from these people assumes that we would not ultimately protect ourselves. This argument is based on the fact that the government essentially believes that the average person is too stupid to know that they are being taken advantage of.

I would pose that there is some degree of truth to that assumption. In all the time leading up to the rise of the American empire, species survived and became extinct based on their adaptation to the surroundings they were placed into. Only in the last several hundred years and much more in the last 50 years has it been the goal of government to protect and reward the weakest of the species. Is this the best thing to do is the question that is posed today as we are looking at the newest and largest entitlement program in the history of the world.

You can argue that it is inhuman to allow failures to fail. That companies that fail have to be protected because of all the workers that would be misplaced if they weren't bailed out. What about the children, they can't go without food and shelter. To some of these issues, I agree totally. However, not all and the ones I do agree on are not the responsibility of the government to manage. We should be responsible for our actions both good and bad.

So my answer to the health care bill is that I am not for it, not because I don't believe that people don't need health care but because I don't believe in the level of government we have become indentured to. The will of the people will be vetted in the mid-term elections and hopefully this huge advance in the size of government will be reversed by a clear voice from the people.

Life is about choices and consequences. Good choices result in good consequences, bad choices in bad consequences. At least that is how it should be. In America today, people who make good choices are punished by higher tax rates and a smaller percentage of earned income than those who make bad choices. Sometimes, the bad choices are even rewarded through one of thousands of government entitlement programs. Someday this has to stop. One way or another, either the redistribution has to stop or in time the lack of reward for the industrious will result in the lack of industry. There is no sustainability to our current path.

Please vote in November to remove the Washington insiders, both Democrat and Republican and replace them with people who believe that America can still be the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Robin Williams NYC Speech... Priceless

'I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of a plan for peace. So, here's one plan.'

1) 'The US / UK / AUSTRALIA will apologise to the world for our 'interference' in their affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Tojo, Noriega, Milosevic, Hussein, and the rest of those 'good 'ole' boys', we will never 'interfere' again.

2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany, South Korea, the Middle East, and the Philippines. They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No one allowed sneaking through holes in the fence.

3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of whom or where they are from. They're illegal!!! France will welcome them..

4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit!!!! No one from a terrorist nation will be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here. Asylum would never be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers.

5) No foreign 'students' over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a 'D' and it's back home baby.

6) The US /UK/ Australia will make a strong effort to become self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing non-polluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while.

7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go someplace else. They can go somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites would be enough.)

8) If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not 'interfere.' They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides most of what we give them is stolen or given to the army. The people who need it most get very little, if anything.

9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island someplace. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the building would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.

10) All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us 'Ugly Americans' any longer. The Language we speak is ENGLISH, learn it, or LEAVE...Now, isn't that a winner of a plan?
'The Statue of Liberty is no longer saying 'Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses.' She's got a baseball bat and she's yelling, 'you want a piece of me?' '

Texas sets textbook standards for all... or most anyway

The Texas school board took the first step this week to fundamentally change the content of the nation's textbooks. For background, the number of textbooks purchased in Texas make them the state that predominately decides the content. This is not a good thing at all. Unfortunately, the injection of party politics and individual beliefs are forming the social studies, economics and history that our children will be taught.

It is my belief that personal convictions are the responsibility of the parents to teach their children. The purpose of school textbooks is the fundamental transfer of FACTUAL information to students. The interpretation of these facts are the responsibility of the child's parents. The nature of our countries history is NOT the issue at hand. The issue is what components of that history the politicians will ALLOW in the textbooks.

There are good and bad components to the history of our great nation. There are things that we have learned because of the lessons that our predecessors did. If we whitewash that information, we, or our children are bound to make the same mistakes and pay the same price that has already been paid on lessons already learned.

I say to let the facts remain. Remove the political left and right influences. Let the interpretation of the good, bad, right and wrong be the responsibility of the parents. This is yet another way for the government to indoctrinate our children to a particular and prescribed way of thinking. We must act to protect our children from ANY politically motivated changes to our history. We are the country we are because of our history, NOT in spite of it as some would like us to believe.

National ID card... good or horribly bad?

The senate is proposing a national biometric ID card to ensure that those who are working in our country are both legal and paying taxes. Both Lou Dobbs and Bill O'Rielly are supportive of this new program. Funny that I am at times confused with a "right-winger" but as you will see, I am very much opposite of the conservatives on this issue.

A national ID card is yet another mechanism for the country to gather personal information about the citizenry. The gathering of this information is NOT harmless. There are many reasons this is not a positive move for the people of the United States. In the guise of safety and security you are being sold a bill of goods. This is what I see happening in the future as this issue proceeds. Again, all in the guise of protecting you, your identity and your property.

First is the ID card, this makes everyone who earns even a single dollar register a biometric identifier with the federal government. This could be a fingerprint or even a DNA sample. Then, in an effort to protect your identity, you will not be able to use credit cards or other methods of payment besides cash without producing this ID. Ultimately, in order to reduce strong arm robbery and crime, there will no longer be a need for cash as all of your financial information could easily be tied to your ID card.

So, now you are paid by your employer through your national ID card, you may only purchase goods and services with your national ID card, even your credit is managed through your national ID card. You and your identity are very safe now. But wait there is MORE !!!

People are very good at identifying ways to work around the system and criminally obtain things they have no right to. This is going to be true about national ID cards, even with biometrics. Ultimately, again, in order to protect your security and safety, the only way to ensure that no one can steal or forge your identity and money would be to implant the national ID inside your body.

You decide if this sounds possible, probable or even likely. Remember what Thomas Jefferson said "people who are willing to sacrifice liberty for security will eventually lose both."

Nevermind what other ways the government could use your information... I'm just saying...

When is enough, enough?

What will the American people tolerate? I believe that we are in a time that will allow us to see just that. This president and congress are moving in directions that will fundamentally change America. What happens in November will speak volumes about the will of the people. If there is anything less than a complete upheaval of incumbents, we will prove that this path is of our choosing. I. for one, pray that there is a clear message.

There was a clear message in 2008 that the American people want change. I don't believe that this change is anything like what the people thought it would be. I don't believe anyone knew that our national debt would get worse, that we would own two auto makers or that the entire countries financial future would depend on what bank was getting bailed out next. If we knew then what we know now, we would have all voted for Ron Paul.

There is not one single improvement that has come about because of the "change" that came with Obama. Factually, the Country has only gotten worse. Unemployment is up, consumer confidence is down, the borders are as permeable as ever and our reputation as a military super power is in serious jeopardy. There were not many good decisions under Bush either. He increased the national debt as well, put us into a war we had no business in but at least we had a reputation as tough on terror.

I don't know the answer, except to say that if we do not return to the foundational principles of the constitution, we are only going to see the ultimate downfall of our Country.

Pray for us

What does the 2nd Amendment REALLY mean?

The exact words of the 2nd amendment are as follows:

A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free
State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be
infringed.

This simple language has been interpreted in many ways by many people. Most of these people are highly educated and well meaning but, they have missed the entire point of the amendment. Thomas Jefferson said "No Free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms". In its simplest form, the words of the amendment say all that needs to be said. Beyond that, there are arguments as to what that freedom entails.

I suggest that the right to keep and bear arms is expressly for the purpose of protecting the citizenry from the tyranny of an over-reaching government. This is complicit with the following statement by James Madison "Americans have the right and advantage of being armed - unlike the citizens of other countries whose governments are afraid to trust the people with arms." This is the foundation of the right to bear arms. With gun ownership legal, there remains laws that restrict the rights of free men to keep arms.

Consider for a moment, if the federal government decided to move in a direction that was in direct contrast of the will of the people. If then martial law is imposed upon the people and there is a declaration to obtain all registered firearms from the citizenry, who then would have control of all of the weapons in the US. I submit that only the military and the criminals would then be armed. Who then is protected from tyranny or criminal mischief?

Surely the founding fathers knew what it was like to live in such a time as this, when there were no protections, when the government controlled everything and there only way out was to declare independence. These are the protections that the founders put in place to insure "We the People" would never have to face the same tribulations.

Ask yourself what gun registration really does. Are there fewer guns in the hands of criminals or in the hands of law abiding citizens? Would restricting firearm sales reduce the number of guns on the street? Are there less drugs available because they are illegal or are they simply more expensive? Simply, by restricting firearm ownership, those who would own them legally are only at a disadvantage to those who obtain them illegally.

Please share your opinions in the comment section as I am interested to hear the debate on this issue.

Intent vs. Interpretation: What did they mean and why don't we get it?

Contemplating the intent of the founders who formed the Constitution, I find myself looking beyond the words to the interpretation of what the founders meant. Instead of reading the document in the light it was written, trying to decide what it means for us today. It is my belief that this is exactly the process that has driven this Country away from Constitutional principles and towards tyranny. The Constitution, it appears, was not designed with the intent of interpretation. The Constitution was written as a set of clear, inescapable tenets of governmental restraint.

Our current government exceeds its Constitutional role at almost every junction. The federal government exerts more control than ever and has continued to grow with each administration. It is this same set of issues that existed during the American revolution. Thomas Jefferson said that the best prevention of an oppressive government is the belief that the people will rise up against it. Today, our government has no concern with regard to the will of the people. In November, we must send a clear message to the incumbent leaders in the house and senate. That message, you have failed to listen and now we are removing every single one of you.

I will be focusing the next several blogs on Constitutional rules and amendments that have either been interpreted in contrast to their intent or blatantly obfuscated by the members of our government. The next blog will focus on the 2nd amendment and what the founders themselves said in reference to the right to bear arms.

The political giants met yesterday and made it NO WHERE!!!

Yesterday, President Obama and the leaders of the House and Senate met in an open, televised forum to discuss the healthcare agenda. While I applaud the transparency of this effort, the total lack of forward progress is not lost on me. Based on what I saw yesterday, the dems are no closer to the middle than the republicans are. The basic problem is completely invisible to the Washington elite.

The government need to get out of healthcare all together. There is NO GOOD PLAN besides returning control to the free market. The basis for nationalized healthcare is that more people will have access to lifesaving care. The fact is that the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor act or EMTALA already ensures that for every person in our Country legally or illegally. Currently the brunt of those costs are passed on to the consumer in health care costs. Why would you think that adding additional burdons would cost less.

President Obama is proposing a 2.5 TRILLION dollar plan. In the event you can not visualize one trillion dollars, take a dollar bill and lay it flat on the ground, then stack dollar bills on top of it until you have a 62 mile high column. That is one trillion. When and how do you think we can pay for this.

Thomas Jefferson said the following in reference to national debt; "We must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty or profusion and servitude. If we run into such debt, as that we must be taxed in our meat and in our drink, in our necessaries and our comforts, in our labors and our amusements, for our calling and our creeds...[we will] have no time to think, no means of calling our miss-managers to account but be glad to obtain subsistence by hiring ourselves to rivet their chains on the necks of our fellow-sufferers... And this is the tendency of all human governments. A departure from principle in one instance becomes a precedent for[ another]... till the bulk of society is reduced to be mere automatons of misery... And the fore-horse of this frightful team is public debt. Taxation follows that, and in its train wretchedness and oppression." Thomas Jefferson

This is as simple as it gets. We need our Country back now.

CPAC identifies Libertarian as "best" candidate for 2012

This weekend at the largest meeting of ultra-conservatives, Ron Paul was identified by the majority of those in attendance to be the best candidate for President in the 2012 election. The reason this is important is that the hands down favorite of the media to be the right-wing candidate was Mitt Romney. Romney is very conservative both fiscally and socially and the identification of Ron Paul as the favorite is a clear indication that people want less government period.

Most conservatives are all for small government where business and fiscal policies are concerned, but the republicans want the government much larger when it comes to legislating morality. Liberals are the opposite, the want small government where social liberties are concerned but are all for big government programs and redistribution of wealth. Both parties are out of touch and completely clueless that they are facing a complete anti-incumbent election cycle in 2010.

I agree with the sentiment of most of the Country. We should vote every single incumbent out of office and replace them with people who will vote for congressional term limits and a smaller government from all perspectives. The congress and house of representatives should be filled with people who are there to serve the interest of the people. Career politicians are without exception corrupt and have lost touch with reality. A great example is Charlie Rangel who is in his 40th year in congress. This MUST end. Make sure you vote this November and get these corrupt, special interest serving career politicians out of office.

Substantive debate

It would be nice occasionally to see a politician clearly establish a position. I have come to the conclusion that these people can talk at great length without ever actually saying anything. I would like to hear where a person stands on the topics that matter to me as opposed to all of the quote popular issues. Partisan politics is based on the process of dividing people on issues that are emotional rather than substantive. Examples include abortion rights, gay marriage, and other emotional hot buttons.

I would like to see the emotional issues set aside at least temporarily to look at the legitimate, fiscal and social questions that impact American society. We need to know what the government is going to do about reducing the burden of debt and increasing individual responsibility. We need to know when our troops are coming home and when we can count on the government to return to the people the rewards of their own industry.

I am calling on all politicians to get to the business of telling the truth on the areas that matter most. Morality needn't and shouldn't be legislated. Small government and more responsibility will mean a better Country for everyone.

Cheney vs. Biden: The Sunday Showdown

Interesting Sunday morning political shows yesterday. Both the current and past Vice-President went on to talk about which administration had done the most on the war on terror and made the most progress on the middle east conflicts. Cheney proposed that the Bush administration deserves credit for the success in Iraq and the current administration is soft on terrorist. Of course, Biden stated emphatically that the ":victory" in Iraq is because of the current administration and the treatment of terrorist is no different under the current or former administration.

Clearly, this is politics as usual. Bottom line is that we should not be in Iraq or Afghanistan. There is no clear or present danger to the United States of America by either of those countries. I propose that we pull out all of our troops immediately and allow these countries to settle their own differences. Using the lives of Americans and American troops as a political pawn is simply disturbing.

Terrorist should be treated as any other enemy combatant. They are not Americans and are not afforded the same rights as Americans. We should not spend a single American dollar to provide defense to those who would do us as a Country harm. The concept of "human rights" does NOT trump the protection of the American people. There is a point where we as a Country have to realize that the people who we would afford rights are the same people who will kill innocent civilian Americans given the chance.

We have to hold the people we capture accountable for their intentions and actions. There must be a clear message to those that would try to harm America will meet swift and sure justice. That justice should be metted out by the military court system and only after all attempts to obtain valuable information have been exhausted. This does include enhanced interrogation techniques.

Take the politics out of protecting our Country and do what is right for the American people. That is THE primary purpose of the federal government.

People have asked.. so here they are

I have had people ask what my stance is on certain issues. Many of the issues are self evident in my writings but for the benefit of clarity, I will list several issues here and what I believe. Truly and simply freedom and liberty are the foundation for my beliefs so here are some of the issues.

Same Sex Marriage - I do not believe the government has any role in deciding what marriage is or is not. Simply if there is a faith based organization willing to recognize marriage then it should be recognized as any other marriage is recognized. Marriage is not a legal but religious institution.

Role of the Military - I believe that we should have an all volunteer military that has the clear obligation of protecting our country. I do not believe that the United States military should be engaged in the civil wars of other countries, nor do I believe that we should be the international police force. We should bring all of our military men and women home to do what they are constitutionally charged with doing, protecting our borders and our Country from all threats both foreign and domestic.

Legalization of Drugs, etc. - There is a fundamental component to this argument that has to be clear in advance. The right of a person to determine what they want to do with or to their body is their right. The decision to do harm to themselves, whether it be with alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, fatty foods or whatever, it is still an individual right. See responsibilities below

Role of the Federal Government - The simple description of the federal government by the Constitution is the blueprint of my beliefs. Government is best when it is closest to the people. In other words, the balance of power should be to the states and local governments. The federal government is responsible for protecting it's people and ensuring interstate cooperation.

Government Health care - Simple, not a government responsibility. The current health care problem is primarily because of the government involvement. Regulation, the intrusion of medicare and medicaid, support for trial lawyers and severe restrictions on the ability of insurance companies to apply large market principles are crippling the free market for health care. Quality is driven by the free market and the free market MUST regain control of the health care industry.

Personal Responsibility - With every right, comes responsibility. No country can have both liberty and socialism. There is no way to have a truly free people if the government is engaged in social saviorism. If you take from one to give to another, you have killed freedom and liberty. So simply, an adult must be responsible for their decisions. If they decide to do things that are harmful to them physically, then they must be responsible for the outcome. If someone decides not to pursue higher education, then the resulting lower quality of life is their responsibility.

Widows, Children and the Disabled - A common argument to the personal responsibility belief is what about those who cannot take care of themselves. We as a people, NOT the government must engage in the support of those unable to care for themselves. When called upon, the people of this Country ALWAYS have come together to send aid and money to wherever it is needed.

Taxes - Make this easy, takes should be fairly applied to all adult Americans. First, government must reduce spending or there will never be true tax reform. Secondly, a flat, fair tax of all Americans and businesses that is not wrought with loopholes and deductions. Both people and businesses can operate more efficiently with fixed costs. This is true also of the government. Also, in case there is any doubt, STOP BORROWING MONEY TO RUN THE GOVERNMENT!

These are just a few of the hot button issues that have come up when people ask me what I believe. If there is any question on any issue, simply apply the following; if there is no Constitutional basis for it, then it should not exist. This applies to every program, policy and law that comes to the government.

Back to basics

I thought today I would focus some time on some simple things that we as a people could do today to help move our Country back towards the Constitutional foundation on which it was founded. Do what you will but please do something. Here are a few suggestions:

1. Write an actual paper letter to your Congressman, Senator, the President, or any elected official. Tell them what you think and how you want them to vote.
2. When asked, tell people what you really think. There is no place for "political correctness" in today's world.
3. Do your part to help who you can, when you can. Help prove that we as a people and not a government can and should take care of each other.
4. Do not, under any circumstances, belittle or berate someone who is different than you in any way. I mean ANY way. That includes everything you can think of. We are all human and are endowed certain inalienable rights by our creator. Those rights include life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Whatever that happiness may be derived from.
5. Do not think that your rights outweigh the rights of others. This is the basis on which socialism and communism are founded that the right of one outweighs the rights of another. Whether good or bad, everyone is equal. Taken at face value, this concept is fundamental in a capitalist society. Your right to wealth cannot be outweighed by another persons right to be choose poverty.
6. Remember always that what you have and what you are is NOT the product of circumstance but IS the product of what you have done with the circumstances you have been given.
7. Lastly, there is always a choice, always a decision point. These choices over a lifetime shape a person. The choices made determine the life that a person will live, good or bad. Every adult is a product of their choices.

There is no easy fix to today's societal issues. There is no political party that will make everything better. It is up to each and every individual to decide to always do the right thing and the right time for the right reason without regard to what others are doing.

The INHERITED budget deficits... fact or ???

Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress, and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democratic Party. They controlled the budget process for FY 2008 and FY 2009, as well as FY 2010 and FY 2011. In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases. For FY 2009, though, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office.

At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the FY 2009 budgets. And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete FY 2009.

Let's remember what the deficits looked like during that period:

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the FY 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack
Obama, who voted for the budgets. If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself. In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is, "I inherited a deficit that I voted for, and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th."

Personal Responsibility is not a FOUR LETTER WORD

I was contemplating yet another set of Government programs that are designed to prop up yet another subset of Americans and decided that there is a good solid argument for natural selection. Before anyone accuses me of being anti-something, please understand that I believe in helping people who because of disease or disability are UNABLE to care for themselves. I also feel that this is the responsibility of the people and not the government.

Back on the subject of natural selection. This is a theory proposed by Charles Darwin that simply accounts for survival of some species over the extinction of others. The theory suggests that those who are strong enough do survive and those who are not, do not. While this seems like an insignificant enough theory in politics, I will argue that the process of natural selection is being circumvented and creating a weaker species of humans and very well lead to our eventual extinction.

Take for instance the third and fourth generation welfare families; if the first generation had instead been forced into earning a living than being handed one, they would have passed those ethics on as opposed to the entitlement mentality of their subsequent generations. I am suggesting that by redistributing wealth that we as a nation are creating sluggards. We have taken away the incentive towards industry and by doing so have pushed that industry outside of our borders.

If the labor unions and big government proponents would learn anything from nature it is that as you ease the burden of work from generation to generation, you weaken the species. As human beings, we are systematically being weakened by our own programs. We give to the poor and they learn to stay poor because there is reward in laziness. We tax and take away from the industrious and they then reduce their productivity because there is no reward in it.

Human being will become extinct and it will be because we are no longer the fittest. Not because we could not be but because we choose not to be. By all accounts, every nation that has attempted to equalize the masses has failed and every empire has fallen.

Before even the Constitution, the Holy Bible dealt strongly with those who were not productive. In the parable of the talents, Jesus told of three servants whose wealthy master entrusted them each with talents according to their ability. To one he gave five talents, to another two and to the last he gave one talent. Upon his return the master called his servants to him and asked what they had done with their talents. The one he gave five, invested wisely and earned an additional five, the one he gave two also doubled his. To these servants he lauded praises and additional responsibility for all the days of their lives. The third, we will call him a liberal, knew that his master had made his money by reaping where he had not sown and gathering where he had not laid down and he was afraid of his master. As a result, he took the one talent that was given him and buried it so that it would not be lost.

The last servant, knowing that the master made money on his money still did not invest this angered his master. For his laziness, he was stripped of the one talent he did have and it was given to the servant with now ten talents and the other was sent away never to be in the sight of his master again.

Just like 2000 years ago and even 200 years ago, there is clear evidence that everyone must be productive to survive. We must demand personal responsibility of our fellow man. It is not the governments job to bail out every failure. Let them fail, personal or business. Where they leave off, someone or some other business will succeed. If people are held responsible, its not to late to reverse the trend of entitlement that is crippling the United States.

Tell your elected officials that you have had enough of entitlement programs and you want the government back to the limited size dictated by the Constitution.

Economic Recovery... HUH

So the office of the White House is claiming victory on the war on unemployment as the percentage of unemployed has dropped to 9.7% in the most recent numbers. This would seem like a good thing if it wasn't total crap. The numbers they are claiming are a victory only account for those who receive unemployment benefits. Those who have exhausted their benefits or who do not qualify for unemployment are not included. The real unemployment numbers can be seen indirectly in the number of mortgage foreclosures, auto repossessions, credit card write offs and the decreases in consumer spending.

These days are dire and there must be an accounting for the failures of our government to do what is necessary to sustain us as a country. These things that are required are simple in nature and the right thing to do. First and foremost, there MUST be a drastic reduction in federal spending. As a follow up to decreasing spending, there MUST be a drastic reduction in personal and business taxes to allow for real economic growth. The job of the federal government is to protect our borders from invading armies and to ensure the freedoms of we the people. This does NOT include feeding the poor, providing healthcare to everyone, redistributing wealth from the industrious to the lazy or regulating businesses into failure.

I am calling on everyone to take a stand for your freedom. Stand up and be recognized as a free man or woman in a country founded on the principles of individual liberty as well as individual responsibility. Hold your government to account and ensure that they know that you are not interested in more of the same tax and spend policies that have been perpetuated by both parties. Tell your government that you do not believe that businesses or people are too big to fail and that the free market society and a free people are the fundamental building blocks of the United States and you want a return to that simple yet elegant time.

We need to send a clear message to the government that is is time for CHANGE but not the kind the progressives are looking for. We need change to a simpler and more fundamental structure that requires less from the government and more from individuals. We are a free people and we are seeing those freedoms systematically reduced. It is time to say NO.

Healthscare 2010

So all the king's horses and all the king's men do not appear to be interested in passing the king's agenda before the midterm election cycle. It is as if the aggressive need to push through "some kind of" health care reform is being rethought by those who might need a job in November.

The Massachusetts "mishap" as it is being termed is the loudest voice in the crowd since the beginning of the President's term. All the TEA parties and all of the town hall meetings that supposedly were simply "right wing nuts" turned out to be pretty much "on the money". The backpedaling that is taking place now is almost too fun to watch. Even the Repubs that had supported some of the health care initiatives are quietly fading into the background.

Here is what I propose, GET OUT OF OUR HOUSE!!! Come November and in the next election cycle as well, whatever you do, do NOT vote for an incumbent. Find the person that is furthest from the Washington, inside the beltway, career politician and vote for them. Make sure that they value the liberties and freedoms espoused in the Constitution and send a clear message that we the people want our Country back.

Health care is dead, Cap and Trade is dead, the Stimulus failed and the new budget is atrocious. Obama is a one-term nightmare that will not be over soon enough. Do not give him the power to entrench us further into debt and entitlement. Vote out the politicians and vote in folks who want term limits in the Congress and are interested in the well being of the Country not just their political careers.

The President has released the 2011 Budget... dig deep

President Obama released his 2011 budget this week with the audacity to believe that we as a people can stomach another 1.4 TRILLION with a T dollars of deficit spending. When is this going to end. We continue to hear the same rhetoric from both sides of the aisle, that we can spend our way out of the "recession". DON'T DRINK THE KOOL-AID!!!

There is only one way to create jobs, stabilize our economy and reduce national debt to pre-Bush years; Stop big government. We must stand up as a people and demand accountability for every dollar. We must take a rigid stance in the upcoming election to remove from office any one who supports government spending. The fact is, if we cut taxes, support industry and small business by reducing regulaton and encouraging growth, the recession will end and we will see unprecedented economic recovery.

The government, specifically the federal goverment, needs to get out of the way and allow "We the People" to be successful. As you know, I am a huge fan of the founding fathers, Thomas Jefferson said " What country can preserve it's liberties if it's rulers are not warned from time to time that thier people preserve the spirit of resistance?"

Haitian Relief Efforts and The Governments Involvment

I was just speaking with a Navy officer who is stationed in San Diego. Almost all of his entire hospital staff is being deployed to Haiti to set up a tent hospital. While I applaud the efforts of our government ot assist those in need in other countries, it is not the governments responsibility or constitutional role. There are NGOs (non-governmental organizations) like the Red Cross and others that are supported by the charity of individuals and corporations whose job it is to provide this relief effort. I am in total support of our military protecting our citizens when they are abroad but that is all.

It is the responsiblity of the military to protect the United States from all enemies both foriegn and domestic. That does not mean that we go looking outside our borders for new enemy states to destroy and rebuild. It means we protect our country. I am willing to bet that if all the soldiers deployed overseas in whatever capacity were to come home and park themselves along the borders that illegal immigration would come to a screeching halt.

Please donate money and resources to the extremely unfortunate people of Haiti, but do not support governmental nation building or we will be in Haiti forever, just like Germany, South Korea, and many other countries.

First Post

I am creating this blog at the request of a few who agree with some of my views about what it means to be an American. I am an Independent / Libertarian that believes that the Constitution and the writers of that document had it right in the beginning. The Bible supports many of the tenants of the constitution and I also believe the Bible.

The progressives, republicans and democrats in this great Country are leading us on a path of destruction. The way of life that our preceding generations worked and died for is being systematically taken apart one entitlement program at a time. It is the founding fathers who warned us of the folly of large government and the subsequent loss of freedom and liberty that would ultimately follow if we, as a people gave up freedom for security.

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them. - Thomas Jefferson

I will add to this blog every day as possible, especially when there are miscarriages of our freedoms and liberties at the hands of our Government. I trust the people of America to decide that America was founded in the principle of hard work and rewarding the industry of that work. It is not the responsibility of the Government to "take care of the less fortunate", but is the responsibility of the people. We have proven we are a generous people with the recent disaster in Haiti, let us turn that generosity inward and take care of our own who are unable (note: not unwilling) to care for themselves.
